Rosewood & Yarrow - Our rosewood and yarrow bar soap has a warm woody, and slightly floral and fruity scent. We use a tea made from organic yarrow blossoms and leaves grown in our garden in this recipe. Yarrow is native to both Europe and North America, and has historically been used for its ability to promote skin healing.
We handmake our soaps in small batches using our own carefully formulated recipes. Each oil has it's own fatty acid profile, which affects the properties of a soap bar. For this reason, we choose to use a mixture of olive, coconut and castor oils in our recipes. Olive oil ensures our bars are gentle and nourishing to the skin. Coconut oil is used to make the bars hard and long-lasting, and castor oil provides a lovely thick lather. Our soap bars are made using the cold process method, which allows the pH to drop as the bars age, which makes them gentle on the skin. We cure our soap bars for at least 4-6 weeks as well, which allows them to harden for high performance. Cold process soap making also results in bars that retain their natural glycerin - an important humectant and skin moisturizer.
