small batch bar soap: dandelion + grapefruit

Dandelion Grapefruit – This soap is one of the most recent additions to our line. We hand-pick and infuse organic dandelion blossoms from our yard, to create a cheerful refreshing soap. Dandelion blossoms can help reduce inflammation and mild skin irritation. We also use pink kaolin clay for added colour and skin soothing effect. This bar is scented with an invigorating high quality grapefruit oil.

We handmake our soaps in small batches using our own carefully formulated recipes. Each oil has it's own fatty acid profile, which affects the properties of a soap bar. For this reason, we choose to use a mixture of olive, coconut and castor oils in our recipes. Olive oil ensures our bars are gentle and nourishing to the skin. Coconut oil is used to make the bars hard and long-lasting, and castor oil provides a lovely thick lather. Our soap bars are made using the cold process method, which allows the pH to drop as the bars age, which makes them gentle on the skin. We cure our soap bars for at least 4-6 weeks as well, which allows them to harden for high performance. Cold process soap making also results in bars that retain their natural glycerin - an important humectant and skin moisturizer.
